A soft sigh left the feline like males lips as he felt the soft caress of a breeze brush past his cheek, just stirring the bangs that hung into his face. His eyes were narrowed slightly against the glare of the sun that was warm for a spring day. Warm to the point that he had his Gi loose and open, revealing a lightly muscled bare chest.
Slowly he kept walking in thought, not noticing anyone in front of him, the whisker markings beneath each eye still perfect despite having being working out heavily at the dojo. He was currently wrapped in thoughts of the past, predominantly Kai. How he wished that he was here now, if he was he was sure that he'd tell him what he'd kept from the stoic male while they were a team.
So caught in his thoughts was he that he wasn't paying proper attention to where he was walking, or what might be blocking his path. So it was with a sound of surprise that he walked into someone, his long black hair tied back into a ponytail and wrapped to keep it neat and tidy swaying at the sudden movement.
"I'm sorry, please forgive me," he stated with a polite bow making to walk around and keep walking.

A pair of crimson eyes were slight narrowed as they gazed up at the strong sunlights. A snort came from the person as he simply stood still, lost in own thoughts for now. Honestly, the sun was annoying him but he did not intend to move from where he was standing any time soon.
He sighed and ran a hand thought his hair, when suddenly someone walked into him and he heard the person excuse himself. Kai let out a "Hn." before glancing at the person and raising an eyebrow. Before the person could get away, Kai spoke, "..Rei?"

Rei froze at hearing that familiar voice. A frown crossed his face before he half turned, his golden brown hued eyes widening in shock, a smile showing very faintly. "Kai?!" he couldn't help his exclamation of shock then turning to face him fully. "I... I didn't know you were here," he shook his head fustrated at himself, perhaps seeming a bit flustered. Unusual for him with how calm he normally was.
"I mean...." he tailed off slightly then. "I should have known, the company has offices here at least, but I thought that...." he sighed. "How have you been?" He forced himself to change subject then his eyes still gleaming in delight at seeing his old friend again. Maybe... the red string. The red string of fate had come into play. Maybe...no, stop thinking about that.
As he realised where his thoughts were taking him the feline like male blushed faintly, looking away from Kai.

Kai raised an eyebrow as he listened to how Rei was messing around with his words. He was also surprised to see Rei at this town, as he had believed Rei would be living in White Tiger Hills but it did not seem so.
A faint smile and low chuckle emerged from Kai's lips, as he watched Rei, before he decided to answer Rei's question. "I've been doing fine as of now. How have you been, Rei?"

Rei smiled a bit hearing Kai's chuckle. "I've been mi... I mean I've been good, the business is keeping me busy that I set up in town," he stated refusing to admit he'd been missing Kai, which was what he was going to say at first. "I guess that's same for you though," he added on forcing himself to shut up for a while painfully aware he was talking too much.
"Still, such a disparity here," he eventually said with a sigh "I try and help as much as I can but..." he shook his head watching a viciously short beybattle between two street kids shaking his head watching as the loser handed over money. "Such raw talent going to waste on the streets," a soft sigh escaped his lips.
"Guess its quiet now the Bladebreakers have split up," he said before he forced himself to silence again. He wasn't normally this talkative. He knew the reason for the difference as well, not that he wanted to admit it.

Kai raised an eyebrow, "You've been what?" he had noticed the start of a sentence there then was changed. "Your business? It was Kon Chinese, wasn't it? I heard about it earlier today." he told before gazing up at the sky, "Yes... Hiwatari Corporation has been rather busy the last few years.."
He sighed as the topic changed, "Yes.. The Bladers aren't like what they used to be in the old days. Instead of being a sport, it's more and more a battle of survival." he looked towards the short battle between the two battling kids as well.

"Surely Hiwatari Corporation being busy is a good thing though right? Shows its open to profit even af..." he shook his head not sure if Kai quite wanted to go that route right now. "They're being driven to it, there is so little income.... at least for those, they live on the streets, many of them die on the streets" he sighed again. "Still, did you hear the BBA's new bulletien? They're looking for the old bladers to mentor and bring in new people with a flair for beyblading to the sport," he commented. He was ignoring that 'you've been what?' from Kai. He didn't think he was quite ready to answer that question just yet.

Kai nodded shortly to what Rei started off with saying. He then sighed deeply, "Use their money on Beyblading when they could use them on something else... like food and shelder."
Kai nodded when Rei asked about the BBA's new bulletien. "Yeah. I heard about it. It's just easier said than done, 'cause the BBA's rules make people to be in teams.. Most work on their own and not all are interested in leaving the streets." he mused.

Rei couldn't help the slight smile then "They daren't try and form a team, they know that if they do they'll incur the wrath of the most feared team in the area. Most formed street teams don't stay together as a team, they team at nights but during the day to try and get the most resources they'll split up. It helps to escape the net of the resident big street team," he sighed a bit shaking his head.
He'd seen how many bladers had had their beyblades trashed. "Team Prehistoria, they're big around here on the streets, many people try and avoid them rather then risk tangling with them, they have potential from what I've heard. Hard to judge when you hardly see them around," Rei stated quietly. "Its rumoured they have shelter in the warehouse district though" he added on.

Kai raised an eyebrow as he heard about a street team. He gave a small nod when he heard about who they were in how they dissolved during the day. He then sighed and shook his head, "It's a waste... Should perhaps look into it later." he muttered the last part to himself. Kai himself knew all too well about street bladers.

Rei nodded sighing. "I just... wish I could help them... all of them.... some of the situations they've been in," he shook his head before looking to Kai "Have you... um.... have you got got anything planned for the night?" he suddenly asked out of the blue, after some time spent just looking around and enjoying his surroundings. That enjoyment only more with the presence of Kai around.
He was almost studying him however now, golden-brown gaze fixed on him, hoping he'd be free.

Kai sighed, "Not everyone can be helped, no matter what. Most doesn't want help, especially not the gangs." he then glanced at Rei when he asked if he had any plans for the night, "I do not have any plans so far." A small smirk played on his lips, "Any ideas, perhaps?"

If you looked closely you might detect the slightest hint of a blush on Rei's normally composed face. He shifted his weight a bit chewing his lower lip slightly trying to draw up courage to ask. "Well... uhm.... there's...there's going to be a meteor shower tonight....and uhm.... its looking to be clear so I was.... thinking of heading out to Okomara Island just before sunset to watch it, take some camping gear with me and I was..." he paused trying to get himself so he was less hesitant and stammery. "Well I was wondering if you would want or be able to come with me," he finally blurted out.
With that said he once more almost anxiously shifted his weight looking around not wanting to look at Kai right now almost sure the stoic male would find his nervousness amusing.

Kai did notice the slight hint of a blush and watched Rei with slight amusement as the Chinese was stammering the words forth. He stood a little, watching Rei. The Chinese had always managed to get just a little smile onto the Russian's lips, and obviously he was still capable of doing so because a small smile came onto Kai's lips, "I believe I have the time and it could be interesting to see a meteor shower."

Rei's shoulders dropped sure he heard Kai turn him down then "oh okay I un--" then what Kai actually said hit him causing him to turn his head to look over at the Russian his long tail swinging around, wrapping about his body slightly "You mean it?!" he exclaimed suddenly.
At that moment he was resisting the urge to hug Kai out of happiness. "I tend to set off from Tokukai Beach just before sunset in about 2 hours so...uhm..... want to meet there? I have a small row boat I can use late at night" he added on. He was almost sure it was a dream. Or worst that Kai was mocking him.
